My Name Is Khan and SRK's Love Challenge for Valentines

How far would you go for love? If you haven't given it a thought so far then have your answer ready because Shah Rukh Khan would soon be asking this question across the country. The superstar's love query to Indians is part of a special promotional campaign for "My Name Is Khan", says filmmaker Karan Johar.

"Yes, there is this huge campaign that has been designed around the strong essence of love that 'My Name Is Khan' carries. As a part of this, Shah Rukh would be travelling across the country and pop this question to the 'aam janta'. This would be his way of connecting with people who are waiting to catch him in 'My Name Is Khan'," Karan, who has produced and directed the film, told IANS.

Establishing a connection with the people is fast turning out to be a trend amongst the Bollywood biggies. Way back in 2006, Shah Rukh himself did so to promote "Don - The Chase Begins Again". In recent times, while Aamir Khan has pulled out all stops to mingle with people across the country for his "Ghajini" and "3 Idiots", even a normally reluctant Salman Khan was seen stepping out for "Veer".

Abhishek Bachchan too went out for multiple city tours when it came to promoting "Delhi 6".

As the much-hyped "My Name Is Khan", which releases Feb 12, brings Shah Rukh and Kajol together on screen after eight long years, one can expect some fireworks during its promotions as well.

"This is going to be a pan-India initiative and won't be restricted to metros or cosmopolitan cities. In addition, there would be a lot of other things happening to facilitate the film's promotion," Karan said.

"...The idea of asking people 'How far would you go for love?' should be quite enticing for many out there. It should be a good participative exercise," the filmmaker added.

"My Name Is Khan", which is being marketed and distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures, is about Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh), an autist, who is mistaken for a terrorist while travelling in the US. Karan, Shah Rukh and Kajol have teamed up so far for candy-floss movies...so how come they decided to opt for different kind of cinema?

"I just felt that cinema is maturing with every passing year and I should move on with the times as well," Karan said with a smile.

"If I am constantly going to try and woo the audience with a certain kind of cinema without doing something that is entirely different, what's the point in sitting pretty in the position where I currently am? Why not use it for my own advantage and make something really fresh...I truly believe that if you are motivated just for the sake of it, you would get caught eventually. You can succeed only if you have a very strong conviction backing up your thought."

Rajeev Masand Interview SRK,Kajol and Karan Johar

After years, we will get to see the golden pair of Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan working in Karan Johar's new movie My Name is Khan.

Aishwarya Rai's Item Number in Housefull 2010 Movie

dug out this time? Ash I hear will be seen dancing away to Big B's Apni to jaise taise... number from the 1981 hit Laawaris.

If sources are to be believed, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has bought the rights of the song for a promotional track in his upcoming film Houseful and it should see Ash joining Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal and Ritesh Deshmukh for the new version. The film is being directed by director Sajid Khan.

Apparently the idea has been liked by one and all and talks are on with Aishwarya as well.

The original had Amitabh as Heera, a boy, abandoned at birth, sent to be raised by a drunken bum Shreeram Lagoo. Heera grows to be a man who cares for others, while trying to find out his meaning in life with Zeenat Aman starring opposite him.

We wonder what Ash baby do in the film.

Asin - Big Bazaar -Fashion Jo Star Bana De

Shah Rukh Khan features on cover of GQ Magazine

With his film My Name Is Khan releasing on Feb 12, Shah Rukh Khan is all over the place. Be it at award functions or press conferences or on your favorite reality show, SRK is leaving no stone unturned to promote his big release. What's more, he also features on the cover page of leading men's magazine GQ in the February issue.

King Khan, as he is fondly known as, is seen sporting a disheveled, spiky look and holding a placard which states 'Where's The Love?' The actor talks about a wide variety of topics in this issue such as his equation with the Bachchans, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan to his oddest quirks. Speaking about quirks, SRK says, "I have a strange attachment to socks. They should feel right. I could be missing a flight, but if my socks are wrong, I have to take them off. I won't wear nylon socks with sneakers. The only time I get disturbed during shooting is over my socks. You can't give me brown socks. I hate different-coloured socks."

His mere presence may bring a smile on many faces and yet it's surprising to know that the one thing SRK finds difficulty in doing is to laugh on screen. "I can't laugh at will on screen. I have a big issue. It's been years since I had a big laughing scene. I can't laugh in real life either; I smile a lot. When I suddenly laugh with my kids or close friends, they stop and stare at me. I laugh maybe once in two years."

SRK also comes across as a clean person when he states, "I don't cheat. I've never had the desire to cheat anyone - financially, emotionally, or romantically. It doesn't mean I am the most morally upright person. I just think cheating is quite low. "

With such interesting tidbits from the actor's life, this February issue of GQ is a must have for any die-hard SRK fan.

Thanks to his irrepressible sense of humour, Shah Rukh Khan comes across as an easy going person. But in real life the Bollywood star is little different and one of the things he is extremely finicky about is his socks.

"I have a strange attachment to socks. They should feel right. I could be missing a flight, but if my socks are wrong, I have to take them off... I won't wear nylon socks with sneakers. The only time I get disturbed during shooting is over my socks. I hate brown socks and different-coloured socks," said Shah Rukh said in an interview to the GQ magazine.

The interview will be published in the February issue of the lifestyle magazine.

In the interview, the 44-year-old also talked about his loneliness.

"I can come across as a user, manipulator, disinterested, weird, reclusive, strange, arrogant from the outside. But the people involved know the truth...there are days I feel lonely on the inside. I guess that's the way I am."

"I've never gotten into relationships because I'm scared to. I have a shield. I've lost my parents, so now I don't like to lose relationships. I have to admit that at 44 I am socially and emotionally inept," said Shah Rukh.

The actor will be seen in his forthcoming film "My Name is Khan", which is releasing Feb 12.

Directed by Karan Johar, the film features Shah Rukh as an unconventional hero Rizvan Khan, who embarks on a journey across America to win back the love of his life, played by Kajol. It shows how, along the way, his personality touches the lives of many and inspires a nation.

HINDI MOVIE ISHQIYA REVIEW

"Aap ka ishq ishq hai aur mera ishq sex" - Arshad Warsi's outburst seems to bring forth the essence of the entire story in one single line.

The film has multiple layers of emotions displayed at various levels and it takes a while to get a grip on the plot. Ishqiya starts with Krishna (Vidya Balan) in bed, clad in a bright red sari. For a fleeting moment she reminds us of Kareena Kapoor in Omkara.

Next we meet her husband, a small time goon, who is on the run from law. Krishna is madly in love with him and pesters him to 'surrender'. And before you could bat an eyelid - BOOM! There's an explosion, of course.

Cut to the next scene. In some other part of the country, Babban (Arshad Warsi) and Khalujaan (Naseeruddin Shah) are seen enjoying a drinking and dancing. Their enjoyment is short-lived as Khalujaan's mooh bola Jija ji tracks them down to extract the heist money from them. The duo somehow manages to fool him and run away with the booty and eventually land up at Krishna's residence in Gorakhpur. They introduce themselves as her husband's old friends and request Krishna to offer them shelter. Krishna obliges.

So far the story flows in a linear pattern as Babban and Khalujaan plan to cross the border to Nepal, while Krishna seems busy with her dairy business, domestic chores and singing. However, things don't look as simple.

While Khalu, hailing from a family with music background falls for Krishna's singing talent, and it seems for a while, Krishna too falls for him. And she doesn't even try to hide her feelings. Meanwhile, the booty that Babban and Khalu fled away with disappears mysteriously.

We get enough hints to understand Krishna is not as docile as she pretends to be. The situation changes all of a sudden when Babban who has been lusting after Krishna for quite a while, snatches her from Khalu after a much-publicised smooch sequence. When the tables turn, things have already moved too far. A kidnap plan is hatched to raisemoney to pay off the creditors; events unravel in an unexpected manner and we are confronted with yet another twist in the tale.

It won't be fair to unnecessarily compare Ishqiya with Omkara. As a first timer, Abhishek Chaubey's direction is a welcome change. Though we find him losing his grip once in a while, Abhishek's choice of the subject and handling of the same makes it a worth watch. The change of events during the kidnap drama and the heated argument that follows thereafter are fascinating. Even the passionate lovemaking sequence between Arshad and Vidya has been dexterously captured. The saucy lingo spit out by Babban and Khalu may make you feel uncomfortable, but it only makes the characters look more real.

Vishal Bhardwaj's musical score has his unmistakable stamp all over. The songs, Ibn-e-Batuta and Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji are obviously the best picks of the album. One may be surprised to note the tune of Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji has an uncanny resemblance to Raj Kapoor's Jeena Yahan, Marna Yahan from Mera Naam Joker.

Every actor in Ishqiya delivers a commendable performance. Vidya steals the show once again after Paa with her role as a scheming woman, two-timing the uncle and nephew without flinching once. Naseeruddin Shah is superb. Arshad packs in a great stint with his little bit of madness and crazy actions. Even the kid, who sticks around with Arshad, is natural.

VERDICT: High on drama and wild at times, you are bound to fall in love with Khalujaan and Babban.

Preity Zinta jumped the Delhi Airport Toilet Wall - Guess what!???

Bollywood's sweetheart actress Preity Zinta pulled off a stunt by jumping off the wall of a toilet at the Delhi airport after she got stuck inside for more than 10 minutes.

"Spent 10 minutes stuck in the toilet at the airport...Finally had to climb the wall and jump over... People were calling out my name," Preity posted on her Twitter page Tuesday.

Shahrukh Khan upset over the IPL controversy

Indian Premier League (IPL) team owners have so far denied in one voice that they deliberately did not bid for Pakistani players during the auction in Mumbai on January 19.

Now a prominent member has broken rank and voiced his opposition to how the entire matter was handelled. Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan has admitted that the entire matter left a sour taste in the mouth.

Shah Rukh Khan's team had the maverick Pakistani paceman Shoaib Akhtar in its ranks during the inaugural edition of the Twenty20 tournament in 2008.

Two years later, while SRK gave the player auction a miss, his fellow franchisee owners decided to give up on the chance to buy Pakistanis at all and since then they have been defending their decision.

But now King Khan has chosen not to toe the line.

"They are the champions, they are wonderful but somewhere down the line there is an issue and we can't deny it. We are known to invite everyone. We should have. If there were any issues, they should have been put on board earlier. Everything can happen respectfully," he told a news channel.

Shah Rukh's statement is bound to ruffle the feathers of other team owners, who have been defending their decision to give the Pakistanis a miss unapologetically.

"A lot of Australian players were not taken in the auction but zeroed in on that particular thing. So the idea of sensationalising the country's conscience is handlelled by the media. It is very, very important for the media to react sensibly," said Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta.

"Are we in a situation to provide security with certain political parties and lunatic fringes constantly threatening? I don't think that is something that we wanted to take the onus for. And we were the losers," said Shilipa Shetty, co-owner of Rajasthan Royals.

IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi, too, won't be pleased with SRK. After all he has been blaming the media for the controversy.

"Why are you taking the case of only one country?" Modi had asked the reporters.

Clearly just as the storm was showing signs of tapering off, SRK's words are bound to find resonance on both sides of the border.

Hot Sexy Amrita Rao on FHM Cover 2010

Hot babe Amrita Rao is on the cover of FHM India's January 2010 issue. Buzz18 brings you excerpts from her interview and, of course, her hot pictures

"I have been very much a Mumbai girl...I was born and brought up in Mumbai. Our past three generations have been here. My dad is from print advertising world, he was involved on the design side, branding and the works. He has his advertising agency so I've grown up always hearing about creatives, captions, positioning, branding... As a result, I've been pretty much inclined towards art and creative field from the beginning."

"I never thought that I'd get into acting so early in life, though I've always had this hunch that I would become an actress. I started when I was very very young. I was a mere teenager and I was studying. Now when I look back, I think that is the best thing that happened to me because I have experience and yet I have youth on my side. It's so important sometimes to start young."

"I am a Manglorean, hailing from North Canara district. I have never lived there but I've been there on a holiday. I think, my community is a small community. There have been few people from my community in the film industry but they've all been very very famous... Shyam Benegal, Guru Dutt, Leena Chandavarkar, Aatmaram... which makes me very proud."

My Name Is Khan Distributors High On Confident

The unprecedented success of Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots has set a tough challenge for new releases by grossing Rs 315 crore in just 19 days. But bosses of Fox STAR studios, distributors of Shah Rukh Khan's forthcoming film My Name Is Khan, are undeterred and hope to hit the bull's eye with the movie.

"We've always been hugely excited about My Name Is Khan and we remain excited. It is fair to say that '3 Idiots' has had great success but as far as My Name Is Khan is concerned, we believe that it's a film to cut across all demographics," Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star, told IANS on phone from Mumbai.

"It has a wide appeal. It also has a very strong talent base which is coming together after eight years. It's a very powerful, emotionally engaging film," he added.

Directed by Karan Johar, My Name Is Khan features Shah Rukh as an unconventional hero Rizvan Khan, who embarks on a journey across America to win back the love of his life, played by Kajol. It shows how, along the way, his personality touches the lives of many and inspires a nation.

The film marks the coming together of Johar, Shah Rukh and Kajol after nine years after their last outing Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001).

The movie has also been in news for Fox Star's acquisition of its global rights reportedly for $20 million.

The movie will be marketed and distributed by Fox Star in India, in the US by its sister company Fox Searchlight and in the rest of the world by parent group 20th Century Fox International.

Throwing more light on My Name Is Khan, Singh said: "'My Name Is Khan is an amazing love story which has a very epic sweep to it. And of course it's got an amazing cast and crew.

"We are hugely excited and we are going to have a worldwide release on Feb 12. It will be the widest Bollywood release ever out of India."

Asked about the number of the prints, Singh said: "It's too early (for figures) as the release is in February. But rest assured given the working progress, it will be the widest release across the widest number of countries and prints."

The movie will open in theatres in India and over 40 countries including the US, Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East, according to Johar' Dharma Productions.

Asked about the budget of the venture, Singh promptly replied: "No. We don't go down there... We don't give our numbers."

He also refused to divulge details on the marketing strategies for the movie saying, "it's probably too early on giving out some of the information."

The movie is coming a few days before Valentine's Day. Asked why, Singh said: "The very fact that Shah Rukh and Kajol are almost like the jodi of the decade. They represent the best of love pairs in Bollywood.

"So here's a love story set against such a big canvas which is coming out very appropriately timed for Valentine's. It's almost like how far will you go for your love."

The Shahrukh,Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai Face off

Hrithik has been infamous for partying out late on his birthdays. Last year, if you remember cops had to interfare to bring the party to a halt. It would have happened this year too had not Shah Rukh come to his rescue.

Shah Rukh invited many of his colleagues at his place after he met them at Hrithik's party.

He not only played a good host but also brought two arch enemies together under the same roof - Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's ex-boyfriend Vivek Oberoi.

We hear like a true gentleman, he made sure no guest was uncomfortable and no sparks flew between Abhishek and Vivek. Shah Rukh managed to create a lighter atmosphere, without explicitly making his intentions known.

Well, diplomatic as he is, this is what we had all expected, isn't it?

Aishwarya Rai and Shahrukh to comeback again together

It seems like 'Aal Izz Well' between Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan now. Not only have the two superstars been bonding with each other and each other's spouses, but also thinking of acting together again!

We got this hot bit of gossip from the various parties and award functions she's been attending (they can be quite tiring, I tell you!). At one of B'wood's ex-hottie's b'day-cum-New Year bash, Gauri Khan and Aishwarya too buried the hatchet, and were seen chatting away.

Oof, the friendship has reached new levels, and Aishwarya might even do a cameo in Shah Rukh's sci-fi flick, RA.1, directed by Anubhav Sinha.

Well, then Ash will be doing two films which sound the same – Mani Ratnam's Raavan and Shah Rukh's RA.1!

But the point is, we would love to see SRK and Ash together again1

Review Pyaar Impossible Movie Priyanka Chopra Uday Chopra

A failed actor turned director and an upcoming hero cum writer tries desperately to dish out the perfect date movie and ends up giving a half-baked romantic flick which just doesn’t click.

This story seems to be inspired from Akshay Kumar’s part of ‘Jaan-e-maan’ with a few alterations. The story of a geek trying to desperately win over the hottest girl in college has been done-to-death in Hollywood but in Bollywood it’s a rarity. We have always seen the hero to be the smart, handsome hunk that can top-size an entire 18 wheel truck to save a butterfly but in this movie the hero is too afraid to even fight against a man who has stolen his software. Now the geek sees his dream girl once again after 7 long years in which the dame has got divorced and has a 6 year old daughter. Now the geek has to find a way to finally fight against his own inhibitions to get his girl and his software back. Can he do it? Of course he can! It’s a Yash Raj movie for crying out loud. But, how? Of course, with the usual Yash Raj cliché ridden second half it is not big a surprise there too.

Uday Chopra has taken this romantic comedy as his comeback vehicle. Apart from his two Dhoom movies he hasn’t smelled success with any other attempts. And when he has to follow up a Neel-n-Nikki he has to be doubly careful. As an actor he has done justice to the role and even the concept seems quite fine but has failed mainly due to his dragging-no twist screenplay and cliché-ridden dialogues which is also penned by him. The movie might have been intended to be a cute romantic comedy but director Jugal Hansraj has concentrated only on the cuteness part, which after a point looks overdone and forgone the comedy which is very essential for such movies. There is a need for one to overdo some geeky parts which was somewhat achieved in Jaan-e-mann but here it seems Uday is just a normal guy with a weird old spectacles.

There are some scenes which do make you smile like the ‘Thai-tradition’ dinner scene, or whenever Priyanka tries to talk to Uday about his or her personal life. The natural acting by Priyanka and Uday helps in achieving the cuteness of many such scenes. But on the other side, scenes like Uday using a 6 year old’s school stage performance to tell Priyanka his version of the story is intolerable. The movie neither gives much importance to how and why does Priyanka fall for Uday nor does Uday use a brilliant way to get his software back (If its that simple to put a password to the software why doesn’t he do it earlier?) And we do miss some twists in the movie which could have helped to a large extent.

The brilliant camera work by Santhosh Thundil and a catchy music and background score by Salim-Sullaiman gives it a glossy rich look and feel. But a lethargic work in the editing table does bite the movie’s prospects in a big way. The first half is slow and after a good start even the pace in the second half slackens. Other cast members have little to do. The kid does not impress at all; Dino Morea puts on the same face from start to finish and it does little to impress the audience. Anupam Kher is decent in a role which he has done several times before, that of a worried and concerned dad giving worldly advice to his geeky son.

Overall the movie is a simple plain movie with little twists and very less comic relief. If properly done could have made a perfect Valentine flick.

Verdict: A romantic comedy with little romance and no comedy.

Review Dulha Mil Gaya Movie Shahrukh Khan

Review Dulha Mil Gaya Movie Shahrukh Khan. The recipe is simple and uncomplicated...
Take MY FAIR LADY.
Add DULHAN WAHI JO PIYA MAN BHAAYE.
Spray NASEEB APNA APNA.
Sprinkle DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE and RAB NE BANA DI JODI.
Hey presto, DULHA MIL GAYA is ready to serve.

In fact, MY FAIR LADY has been a hot favourite of Bollywood. Recall MAN PASAND [Dev Anand, Tina Munim] or HUM TERE AASHIQ HAIN [Jeetendra, Hema Malini]. Similarly, a number of storytellers have rehashed Rajshri's all-time hit DULHAN WAHI JO PIYA MAN BHAAYE [Prem Krishen, Rameshwari] in various avtaars, over the years.

DULHA MIL GAYA is a mix of the above-named films. Like they say in filmi lingo, it's old wine in new bottle. So what? How different can a love story be, since this genre has been done to death in Bollywood? Point noted, but the narrative ought to be engaging if it has to strike a chord and that's where DULHA MIL GAYA falters.

Merely assembling A-listers and filming the movie at panoramic locations isn't enough. The film ought to have meat and that's missing here.

Let me elaborate. Debutante director Mudassar Aziz, who has also penned the script, borrows from the past, going for the tried-and-tested stuff, but the narrative, already low on fuel, comes to a grinding halt by the time it reaches its finale.

Donsai [Fardeen Khan], a young commitment-phobic debonair, is petrified with terms like marriage and long-term relationships. Samarpreet [Ishita Sharma] is a quintessential Punjabi girl, for whom relationships are to be cherished.

Shimmer [Sushmita Sen] is a diva from the world of glamour for whom love and relationships aren't important in life as independence and success are. Pawan Raj Gandhi/PRG [Shah Rukh Khan] is a suave multi-millionaire whose heart still remains larger than his bank balance and for whom winning love is the only victory there is.

When paths cross for these four characters, they not only land up influencing each other with their outlook on relationships, but also get influenced themselves and learn a whole new meaning of the term.

Something that got ignited with D.D.L.J. continues to shimmer to this date. Our stories continue to travel from firangi land to the fields of Punjab. DULHA MIL GAYA too does that [initially], before MY FAIR LADY and RAB NE BANA DI JODI take over.

To give the credit where it's due, DULHA MIL GAYA has some interesting moments, but the problem is they are few and far between. One expects things to perk up when SRK's character is introduced [in the post-interval portions], but your hopes go crashing as nothing worthy of note occurs.

The writing has gaping flaws, which are difficult to absorb after a point. The girl travels all the way from Punjab to Trinidad and Tobago, but not once do her concerned parents call to enquire how she is. Strangely, even the girl doesn't feel the need to inform them. If that's not enough, Sushmita takes upon herself to tame Fardeen, giving you the impression that she thinks from her heart. But when it comes to her relationship with Shah Rukh, she behaves in a rather odd manner. SRK, on the other hand, seems completely besotted by her, even though she never reciprocates his feelings. Hence, her somersault in the end - just because Ishita has given her some bhashan - doesn't look convincing.

Mudassar Aziz's direction is a shade better than his writing. And that's not saying much. Given the fact that newer stories are being attempted in these fast-changing times and in view of the fact that he had some of the best talents on board, Mudassar should've seized the opportunity and told a refreshingly different and absorbing tale. But he doesn't. Sure, a few sequences are clever and smart, but that's not enough.

The music is of a mixed variety. 'Akela Dil' is groovy, while the title track is strictly okay. Cinematography is appealing.

Sushmita excels in a role that demands her to be hoity-toity. She enacts her part effortlessly. One wishes to see her more often on the big screen! Fardeen does a good job, especially towards the end when he's about to confess something vital to Ishita. Ishita delivers a sincere performance. It's a pity that a superstar like Shah Rukh is terribly wasted in an inconsequential role. It may not go down well with his fans.

Mohit Chadha has screen presence, but gets no scope. Johny Lever is wasted. Ditto for Tara Sharma. Suchitra Pillai and Howard Rosemeyer are passable. Parikshit Sahni, Bina Kak and Viveck Vaswani are as usual.

On the whole, DULHA MIL GAYA doesn't work!

Shahrukh Proud to be known the 'Ladies Man'

Seated at a restaurant in London surrounded by 10 women, including his wife Gauri, when Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh says that he 'likes being with girls', you simply have to believe him.

'I don't have many boyfriends'

"I don't have many boyfriends. I like being with girls - and probably that's why people think I'm a little girlish. But I don't have any such male bonding with anyone...," Shah Rukh said in the first episode of Discovery Travel & Living's upcoming series Living With A Superstar - Shah Rukh Khan.

Most of Shah Rukh's closest friends are of the opposite sex - Kajol, Farah Khan, Juhi Chawla and Rani Mukerji.

Among his best known male friends is filmmaker Karan Johar, with whom he has done many hit films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kabhie Alvida Naa Kehna. Shah Rukh's most-awaited film of the year My Name Is Khan is also Johar's baby.

Living With A Superstar

The new TV series Living With A Superstar... chronicles Shah Rukh in his real, day-to-day life. It aims at taking viewers into the private spaces of the 44-year-old, who is fondly known as King Khan by many of his fans and colleagues.

The 10-part series, which has Shah Rukh's voiceover, will go on air on February 26 at 9 p.m. with a slice of his life from a family vacation in London.

Meet the everyday Shah Rukh

He is seen taking a rickshaw ride on the street, cheering for a street performer, playing football with his children Aryan and Suhana at Hyde Park, bingeing on food, smoking, visiting Madame Tussaud's wax studio - and most of all just being himself.

In subsequent episodes, viewers can know about Shah Rukh's relationship with his children, wife, sister and friends, unique style of shooting, time management, interactions with fans and staff and about his house Mannat.

'This is our biggest show ever

The series, jointly produced by Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment and Blue Mango Films, is the biggest ever by the channel, according to Rahul Johri, senior vice president and general manager, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific.

"This is the biggest thing we have done. We have shot in Dubai, San Jose, San Francisco, London, Mumbai, New Delhi - we had been following Shah Rukh wherever he went since March 2009 and he gave us complete access," Johri told the media, without divulging the investment made for it.

The series will have eight repeats in a week, justifying the fan following that Shah Rukh commands across the globe.

Karan Johar's Plans post My Name Is Khan

Director Karan Johar wants to go back to "song and dance" movies after My Name Is Khan, which is about the journey of an unusual couple living in the US post- 9/11 terrorist attacks.

"I have given my three years, heart, soul and body to My Name Is Khan. Now I would love to get back to songs and dances. I guess it's the need of the hour for me," said Karan who is known for making light movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

"Making a film is all about the state of mind - three years back I felt that I had to tell the story of My Name Is Khan. Perhaps after making my 'song and dance' film, I would be fed up again and make something else thereafter. However, as of now I am very clear that my next movie has to be a lighter affair," he said.

Talking about the trigger point that led to conceptualising of My Name Is Khan, he said: "It was basically a film that was needed to be addressed. I had certain feelings and wanted them to be translated for screen. Moreover, this idea also required me to get out of my safety zone."

Releasing Feb 12, My Name Is Khan stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol and Karan worked with writer Shibani Bathija on the movie. He did a lot of research work for the movie.

"More than just the visual presentation on screen, what was of pertinent importance was the fact that My Name Is Khan required a lot of external research. All this while it was about my own world with which I was comfortable but here I was looking at certain perceptions which are a global phenomenon."

It has been reported that My Name Is Khan is picking upon the issues and challenges faced by Muslims globally and aims at addressing them through the medium of cinema.

"Please let me set the record straight that My Name Is Khan is not an issue- based film. Instead it's a human drama about a couple. The film will make you smile and result in tears in your eyes.

"At the end of it all, it's a human film with emotions that are universal. It's a film which connects with you. But I'm not taking forward the baton of an issue. Instead I am just using it as a part of the narrative."

My Name Is Khan also stars Soniya Jehan, Jimmy Shergill, Zarina Wahab, Parvin Dabbas, Arif Zakaria, Navneet Nishan, Sheetal Menon, Arjun Mathur and child artist Tanay Chheda seen in "Slumdog Millionaire".

A co-production of Karan Johar and Gauri Khan, My Name Is Khan is being marketed and distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures.

Review My Name is Khan Movie Music - MNIK Review of Songs

The soundtrack of the latest offering of Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan, My Name is Khan, boasts of Sufi flavour. Composed by Johar's favourite Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the album has six originals and most of the compositions are soul-stirring.

The album starts with Sajda. Sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shankar Mahadevan and Richa Sharma, it's a Sufi number that tugs at one's heartstrings. The sounds of tablas and dholaks keep the listener hooked. With great voices behind the mike, Sajda is a must hear.

Next is Noor-E-Khuda, an unplugged version sung by Adnan Sami, Shreya Ghoshal and Shankar. It's a soft, pleasing love ballad that instantly strikes a chord. Most part of the song is male-dominated, but it gets an edge when Shreya enters with her honey-tucked voice close to the end of the track.

Shafqat Amanat Ali renders Tere Naina brilliantly. The subtle orchestration and melody make for an interesting hear. It changes gear mid-way when it slips into the qawwali mode which elevates it further.

Up next is Allah Hi Rahem – again a Sufi number. Crooned by Rashid Ali, it is enchanting. The lyrics are simple yet profound and the song transports you to a completely different world. One of the best songs ofthe album.

Then there is Rang De by Shankar with ample support from Suraj Jagan. The song with influences of rock is nice and refreshing. It talks about peace, triumph and joy.

The album also has a My Name is Khan theme song by Pakistani band Strings. It is an intriguing piece.

On the whole, every song in the album is above average. The composers have stuck to the theme of the film and the soundtrack has the potential to rock the charts.
