Star Screen Awards 2009 - 2010 Winners

MUMBAI - Amitabh Bachchan bagged the best actor award for “Paa”, while Vidya Balan was named the best actress for the same movie at the Nokia 16th Annual Star Screen Awards here late Saturday.

Rajkumar Hirani bagged the best director award and shared the best screenplay award with Abhijat Joshi for “3 Idiots”.

“3 idiots” claimed the best film award.

The awards function, held at the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) grounds, was a star-studded affair.

The best female singer award was bagged by Kavita Sethi for “Ek tara” from “Wake Up Sid”, while the best male singer award went to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for “Aaj din chadeya” from “Love Aaj Kal”.

Imitiaz Ali bagged the best story award for “Love Aaj Kal”. The award for the best performance in a comic role went to Omi Vaidya for “3 Idiots”, while the award for thebest actor in a negative role went to Boman Irani for “3 idiots”.

A.R. Rahman won the best music award for “Delhi 6″.

The winners were decided through online voting on the www.starplus.in website.

Star Screen Awards 2009-10 Nominations

Nominations for 16th Annual Star Screen Awards has been announced, and keeping with their tradition this year too, some of the nominations defy logic as how can one define Abhay deol missing out on best Actor nomination and Amit trivedi who gave the mind-blowing music of Dev D has been unceremoniously left out from Best music nominations and how come Pritam-The plagiarism king got three nominations is really beyond me, and Katrina kaif has been nominated for best Actress, need I say more.
